SrilanCare is a Dutch NGO that is working in Sri Lanka since 2006. SrilanCare implements social projects in the north of Sri Lanka, in close cooperation with the Sri Lankan NGO Institute of Rural Social Development. The projects focus on creating fruitful future perspectives for vulnerable children, young women and families. We provide development programmes about life skills, that focus on practical, emotional and creative capacities and increase of knowledge.
SrilanCare’s main project is a shelter for girls in Anuradhapura. We provide care for 30 to 40 children who can’t live at home due to domestic violence, sexual abuse or abandonment by their parents. We offer them a safe environment and counselling to heal their traumas. Girls are sent to school and are prepared for a fruitful future by providing additional educational support, vocational training and life skills guidance.
